Atiku’s aide faults Presidency over focus on Paris trip

Phrank Shaibu, Special Assistant on Public Communication to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has criticised the Presidency for focusing on optics rather than addressing Nigeria’s pressing challenges.

In a statement shared via Atiku’s media adviser, Paul Ibe, Shaibu condemned the Presidency’s emphasis on President Bola Tinubu’s lunch engagements in Paris, describing it as misplaced priorities amid the nation’s economic and security crises.

Shaibu highlighted that while Nigerians grapple with hunger, insecurity, and a high cost of living, the government’s attention to dining companions and photo aesthetics reflects a disconnect from the populace’s realities.

He questioned the administration’s focus on defending the authenticity of photographs, especially given past controversies over document credibility.

“When credibility is eroded, doubt follows naturally,” Shaibu stated, urging the Presidency to shift from public relations theatrics to addressing the nation’s challenges.

He called for a redirection of efforts towards tackling issues like hunger, insecurity, and economic decline, emphasizing that Nigerians seek effective leadership over image management.
