Troops of the Operation Hadin Kai have intensified operations against Boko Haram in Adamawa and Borno states, arresting suspected collaborators, killing insurgents and seizing weapons and drones used in attacks on security forces.
In a statement issued Friday, the task force’s media officer, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, said troops from Sector 4 under the 28 Task Force Brigade arrested a 28-year-old suspected logistics supplier, Ismail Muhammed, in the Visik General area of Hong Local Government Area in Adamawa State.
Recovered items included an AK-47 magazine, 7.62mm ammunition, military gear and assorted food supplies. The suspect is in custody and undergoing further investigation.
In a separate operation in Madagali Local Government Area, troops killed a suspected terrorist commander, Abdullahi Mafa, during an ambush along the Visik River line. An AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered.
Acting on intelligence, troops also arrested a 64-year-old suspected collaborator, Dauda Usman Gubula, described as a drone supplier to insurgents. Recovered items included two drones, drone accessories and 20 solar power banks, underscoring the growing use of technology by the group.
In Borno State, troops working with local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force repelled insurgent activity in Ngamdu and killed a suspected informant attempting to breach defensive positions. Additional logistics items were recovered.
The military said the operations are part of ongoing efforts to disrupt insurgent supply chains, restore security and protect communities in the North-East. It commended troops for their efforts and urged them to sustain the tempo of operations.
