The Kids and Teens Resource Center (K&TRC), in partnership with His Marvelous Grace Support Foundation (HMGSF) and supported by the Ekiti State Ministry of Health, on April 11, 2026, launched a new batch of its “Knowing Series” Adolescent Reproductive Health programme, reinforcing its more than 20-year commitment to equipping teenagers with life skills.
The programme, which addresses issues such as teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, brought together 24 adolescents aged 13 to 17 in an interactive learning environment.
Activities included group discussions, games and edutainment sessions designed to improve participants’ knowledge and confidence in making informed decisions. The teenagers actively participated in discussions on teenage pregnancy and showed enthusiasm throughout the session.
The event featured the Chief Executive Director of K&TRC, Martin Mary Falana, and the state focal person for adolescent reproductive health, Tolulope Ademuwobi , who represented the Ekiti State Commissioner for Health, Filani Oyebanji.
Ademuwobi commended the initiative and participants’ engagement.
“The responses from these young people show they are eager to learn and make better decisions. Programmes like this are important in shaping their future and reducing risks associated with poor reproductive health choices,” she said.
She urged participants to see the programme as a foundation for personal growth and to become ambassadors of positive behavioral change in their communities.
Falana reiterated the organization’s commitment to youth development.
“For over 20 years, we have remained committed to building informed and confident young people. This programme is not just about knowledge, but about empowering teenagers to make the right choices and influence others positively,” she said.
Outstanding participants received cash prizes for correctly answering questions and demonstrating strong listening skills during the session.
Some participants told Pinpoint News the programme was “educative and fun,” noting it helped clarify misconceptions about reproductive health and decision-making while providing information to prevent teenage pregnancy.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Programme Manager Mkpuma Peter, who appreciated the contributions of speakers, staff, participants and partner organizations, including HMGSF and supporting philanthropists.
He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to sustaining the initiative through continued support from stakeholders focused on youth development.
The next edition of the “Knowing Series” is scheduled for the first Saturday in May.
