Hope in Awka: Soludo’s Wife Supports 13-Year-Old Battling HIV

The wife of the Anambra State governor, Nonye Soludo, has visited a hospital in Awka where a 13-year-old girl is receiving treatment for advanced HIV disease, donating relief materials, essential supplies and financial support to aid her recovery.

Soludo, founder of the Nonye Soludo Healthy Living Initiative, said the intervention reflects her commitment to supporting vulnerable residents across the state.

She said the donated items were intended to improve the girl’s nutrition and daily care, while the financial assistance would support her ongoing treatment.

During the visit carried out Friday by a team from her non-governmental organization, Soludo called for greater compassion and support for the less privileged, particularly those receiving medical care.

In a statement released Saturday, she urged Nigerians to work together to build healthier communities and ensure vulnerable individuals receive adequate care and attention.

“Today, a team from my NGO, ‘Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo,’ paid a heartfelt visit to a 13-year-old girl currently receiving treatment for advanced HIV disease at a hospital in Awka,” she said.

“As part of our commitment to supporting the most vulnerable in our communities, we also donated essential supplies to aid her nutrition and daily upkeep, along with financial support to help her recovery journey.

“No child should face such a difficult health battle without support. We remain dedicated to showing up for those who need us most.

“Special thanks to the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency for drawing our attention to the case. Together, we can build healthier, stronger communities.”
