Cambodia has dismissed reports circulating online that it ordered all African nationals to leave the country, calling the claim false and misleading.
Authorities said the viral message did not originate from any official government source and stressed that no policy has been introduced targeting Africans or any other foreign group for removal.
The Ministry of Interior said Cambodia remains open to foreigners for business, tourism and employment, provided they comply with immigration laws and regulations.
Officials said the claim stemmed from misinformation spreading on social media, which falsely suggested a deadline for Africans to exit the country. They warned that such false reports could cause unnecessary panic and damage the country’s image.
“The report is completely untrue,” officials said, adding that no mass exit order had been issued.
