Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared his determination to secure re-election in the upcoming 2026 Osun State governorship election, vowing to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polls. Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting in Osogbo, Adeleke expressed confidence that his administration’s track record would earn him the support of the people once again.
Highlighting various developmental projects under his leadership, Adeleke said his government has made significant strides in infrastructure, health care, education, and workers’ welfare. He noted that salaries and pensions are now being paid promptly, and numerous rural roads have been rehabilitated to ease movement and boost the local economy.
The governor criticized the APC for what he described as years of neglect and hardship imposed on the state, assuring that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) remains committed to inclusive governance and progress. He challenged the APC to present a viable alternative, insisting they have lost touch with grassroots realities.
Adeleke urged party members and supporters to remain united and focused ahead of the election, warning against internal sabotage and distractions. He also praised traditional rulers, civil servants, and community leaders for their cooperation and support, pledging to continue delivering good governance.
Political analysts say the 2026 governorship election in Osun promises to be hotly contested, with the APC aiming to reclaim the state. However, Adeleke’s confidence and public approval ratings suggest he remains a formidable candidate.
He concluded by saying, “Our record speaks for itself. Osun people know who truly works for them. We will win again.”
