Accord Party Expels Imumolen, Declares Support for Adeleke

The Accord Party has distanced itself from Prof. Christopher Imumolen, its 2023 presidential candidate, declaring him no longer a member of the party and endorsing Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for a second term in Osun State.

The party’s National Chairman, Hon. Nalado Mohammed, made this known during a press conference held in Osogbo on Saturday. He stated that Imumolen had been expelled from the party for alleged anti-party activities and misrepresentation.

“We want the public to know that Christopher Imumolen is no longer with Accord. He was expelled after the 2023 election for his actions that violated the constitution of the party,” Nalado said.

He also clarified that Imumolen does not have the authority to speak or act on behalf of Accord, especially regarding the party’s position in Osun politics.

The party’s state chairman in Osun, Pastor Victor Akande, also expressed full support for Governor Adeleke’s administration. He said the governor had performed well and deserved another term in office.

“Governor Adeleke has shown true leadership and commitment to the development of Osun. That is why we are endorsing him. Accord in Osun is fully behind his second term bid,” Akande stated.

The endorsement by Accord adds to the growing support for Adeleke ahead of the 2026 governorship election in the state.

The party leaders warned the public to disregard any claims or actions from Imumolen regarding Accord, insisting he is no longer affiliated with the party.
