Fire service recovers body of missing three-year-old in Kano

The Kano State Fire Service has recovered the body of a three-year-old boy reported missing in Wangara Village, Tofa Local Government Area.

The victim, Abdura’uf Badamasi, had been missing since Thursday evening, according to a statement from the fire service. Officials said his parents suspected he might have fallen into a well.

The service’s director, Alhaji Sani Anas, said firefighters were deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call Friday morning at about 7:50 a.m. from a local resident, Dan Asabe Rabiu.

Firefighters retrieved the boy from the well, but he was later confirmed dead. His body was handed over to the ward head of Wangara Village for burial.

The fire service expressed condolences to the family and urged residents to cover open wells and take precautions around hazardous areas, particularly to protect children.
