A grassroots media group, Tinubu Media Force (TMF), has declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, TMF’s National Coordinator, Gbenga Abiola, said the group believes in Tinubu’s leadership and his Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We trust President Tinubu’s vision,” Abiola stated. “We’ll take his message to every part of Nigeria. We’ll counter fake news and divisive narratives.”
Over 1,000 grassroots media practitioners from all 36 states and the FCT attended the event. Abiola stressed that many people at the grassroots lack access to accurate information about government policies.
To fix this, TMF plans to train members in strategic communication. The aim is to improve public understanding and fight misinformation.
Abiola also warned that fake news on social media threatens unity and progress. “We’ll work hard to promote truth. Nigerians deserve honest reporting,” he said.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital and New Media, Otega Ogra, delivered the keynote address. He said the Tinubu administration has made gains in food security and economic reforms. He urged citizens to support the government’s policies.
APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, praised TMF for championing accurate information. He promised the party’s support as the group pushes toward the 2027 elections.
TMF reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Tinubu’s image and spreading verified information to Nigerians at the grassroots level.
