A Lagos-based lawyer, Fatima Olajide, has narrated how a commercial shuttle driver and his accomplice allegedly attacked and robbed her while she was travelling from Warri to Benin.
Olajide, in a viral video posted on social media, said the incident occurred last week in Delta State. She explained that she boarded a commercial shuttle from Warri Park and soon noticed suspicious behaviour from the driver and another man already seated in the vehicle.
According to her, the driver veered off the expressway after picking up a few more passengers and drove toward a bush path. Alarmed, Olajide said she confronted him, but he ignored her warnings.
“I noticed he kept making calls and refused to answer direct questions,” she said. “When I insisted he stop the car, the other man in the front seat turned violent. He punched me and tried to seize my phone.”
Olajide said she was robbed of her money and valuables and eventually pushed out of the vehicle. Passersby later helped her and took her to a nearby police station.
She urged security agencies to increase patrols along major routes in Delta State to prevent such crimes. “I want justice,” she added. “These criminals are getting bolder.”
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, confirmed that the command had received a report and launched an investigation.
He assured the public that efforts were ongoing to arrest the suspects and bring them to justice.
