NDA Says It’s Not to Blame for Missing Cadet

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has refuted claims of negligence following the disappearance of a cadet, maintaining that the institution is fully committed to the safety and well-being of its trainees.

The missing cadet, whose identity has not been officially disclosed, was reported to have disappeared under unclear circumstances. While the incident has sparked public concern and criticism, the NDA insists it followed all required protocols and has been proactive in investigating the situation.

In a statement released by the Academy’s Public Relations Officer, Major Mohammed Maidawa, the NDA emphasized that it operates under strict military standards and procedures designed to ensure cadet security and discipline. He stressed that the institution has a robust system for monitoring its personnel and had launched an immediate search operation once the cadet was discovered missing.

Major Maidawa dismissed allegations that the Academy ignored early warning signs or mishandled the matter. He noted that the NDA had already informed relevant authorities and was cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation to locate the missing cadet and uncover what led to the incident.

The NDA also urged the public to avoid spreading misinformation and allow the investigation to take its course. The Academy reassured the families of all cadets that their safety remains a top priority and that it remains committed to transparency in handling the matter.

The Nigerian military leadership is also monitoring the development, and updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
