The Osun State Chairman of the Accord Party, Victor Akande, has expressed strong confidence in Governor Ademola Adeleke’s leadership, stating that the governor is well-positioned to deliver good governance if re-elected in 2026. Akande made the remarks during a media interaction in Osogbo, where he praised Adeleke’s achievements and leadership style.
According to Akande, Governor Adeleke’s performance since assuming office has shown his commitment to the welfare of Osun people. He highlighted strides in infrastructure development, payment of salaries, and efforts to improve education and healthcare, saying these are indicators of a people-focused administration.
He noted that although Adeleke is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Accord Party respects his leadership qualities and will support candidates who have the people’s interest at heart. Akande emphasized that good governance goes beyond party lines and that Osun deserves continuity in progress.
Akande also used the opportunity to call on political leaders across the state to prioritize the development of Osun rather than engage in divisive politics. He said the Accord Party remains committed to democratic values, transparency, and support for any administration that shows sincerity and capacity to govern.
While reaffirming the party’s readiness for the 2026 elections, Akande noted that the people of Osun have witnessed Adeleke’s governance style and are better informed to make a choice based on performance.
He concluded by urging residents to remain politically active and continue holding leaders accountable through peaceful and lawful means.
