The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West and its governorship hopeful in Ekiti State, Dr. Wole Oluyede, have expressed strong optimism about winning the next gubernatorial election in the state. This renewed confidence follows recent consultations and grassroots mobilization efforts across the region aimed at strengthening the party’s chances ahead of the poll.
Speaking during a strategic meeting in Ado-Ekiti, Dr. Oluyede emphasized that the PDP remains the party to beat in Ekiti, citing the growing dissatisfaction among residents over the performance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He noted that citizens are eager for change and are aligning with the PDP’s vision for development, unity, and transparency in governance.
Leaders of the PDP in the South-West echoed Oluyede’s sentiments, saying the party is fully prepared to take over power in Ekiti through a peaceful, free, and fair election. They stressed that the PDP would leverage its strong base in the state and build on its renewed popularity to reclaim leadership.
Oluyede highlighted key areas of his agenda, including youth empowerment, improved healthcare, agricultural revival, and infrastructure development. He also promised to run an inclusive government that reflects the people’s yearnings and aspirations.
Party stakeholders assured supporters that every effort would be made to ensure internal cohesion and credible primaries, which would further boost the party’s chances in the forthcoming election.
With the campaign gaining momentum, PDP leaders remain confident that Ekiti people are ready to give the party another chance to serve.
