The Lagos State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a driver suspected of killing a real estate agent in Lekki, after tracing and recovering the vehicle linked to the incident.
The victim, 36‑year‑old Yinka Agboola, a realtor and resident of Royal Pine Estate on Orchid Road, Lekki, reportedly died following a confrontation with the unidentified driver over a parking dispute. Witnesses described how residents asked the driver to move his car to allow free movement on the road, but the situation escalated when he became hostile.
According to eyewitness accounts, the driver entered his vehicle and drove in a threatening manner. Agboola attempted to restrain him, clinging to the steering wheel, before being thrown against a pavement as the motorist sped off. Security camera footage shared on social media reportedly showed a white Mercedes‑Benz reversing dangerously and the moment Agboola was struck.
Agboola was rushed to a hospital and placed in intensive care after the incident. Sadly, he later died from his injuries in the early hours of Wednesday, according to social media posts from friends and family.
Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi confirmed that officers had recovered the vehicle involved after tracing it to the suspect’s residence, but the driver remains at large as the investigation continues. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further action.
Authorities are appealing to members of the public with any information on the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward as the command intensifies efforts to apprehend him and ensure justice for the deceased.
