Tinubu’s Chief of Staff Gbajabiamila Not Removed, Presidency Insists

The Presidency has dismissed claims suggesting that President Bola Tinubu removed Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff. The rumour, which spread widely across social media and some online platforms, claimed Gbajabiamila had been replaced by Minister of Special Duties, Zephaniah Jisalo.

Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, debunked the report in a statement on Tuesday. He described the rumour as false and baseless, urging Nigerians to disregard it. “Femi Gbajabiamila remains the Chief of Staff to the President,” he said. “No such change has occurred.”

Onanuga accused political opponents of spreading fake news to distract the government. He noted that the administration remains focused on implementing its Renewed Hope Agenda and delivering good governance. According to him, no amount of misinformation will derail Tinubu’s commitment to service.

Similarly, other presidential aides also reaffirmed Gbajabiamila’s position. They stated that the former Speaker of the House of Representatives continues to carry out his duties without interruption.

Sources at the Presidential Villa confirmed that there had been no official communication about any shake-up. They said Gbajabiamila was seen working in his office as usual and attending scheduled meetings.

The rumour had sparked confusion earlier in the day, with various social media users speculating on its cause. However, the Presidency’s swift response appears to have calmed concerns.

As the administration marks over a year in office, officials have called for responsible reporting and urged citizens to verify information before sharing it. They maintained that stability in leadership remains key to achieving the government’s goals.
