Screening timetable out as APGA begins race for Assembly tickets

The All Progressives Grand Alliance has announced the screening schedule for aspirants seeking Senate, House of Representatives and state assembly tickets ahead of its 2026 primary elections.

In a statement Sunday in Awka, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, said the screening for Senate and House of Representatives aspirants will hold Monday, May 11, 2026, at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.

He said screening for Anambra State House of Assembly aspirants will take place Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the APGA regional office in Awka, Anambra State. Both sessions are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

The party advised all aspirants to strictly comply with the timetable and requirements, adding that screening arrangements for other states will be announced later through official channels.

According to the statement, only members of the screening committee and duly cleared aspirants will be allowed into the venues, while supporters and aides are barred to ensure orderliness.

Aspirants are required to appear in person with original copies of their highest academic qualifications for verification. The party said photocopies would not be accepted.

APGA stressed that the screening process is free of charge and warned aspirants against making any payments to individuals or committees.

“Any demand for payment should be reported immediately to the National Secretariat,” the statement said.

The party added that dates for aspirants from states outside Anambra would be communicated in due course.
