Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has pledged that the state’s promise to deliver more than 1 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in 2027 will remain firm and unchanged.
Namadi made the remarks on Saturday after participating in the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election in his ward in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area.
“Our promise to deliver over 1 million votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 is irreversible and uncompromising,” the governor said.
He said the turnout during the primary reflected strong support for the president in the state.
“As you can see, the people have lined up in masses for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while nobody is on the side of his opponents,” Namadi said.
The governor said the conduct of the primary demonstrated Tinubu’s commitment to internal democracy within the party.
“If you look at how the exercise is going on, you can believe me that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu embodies democracy,” he said.
Namadi said the outcome of the primary would signal the strength of the APC ahead of the 2027 general election.
“The outcome will be enough to signal that the APC is on the path to clear victory at all levels in 2027,” he said.
He commended party members and residents for what he described as a peaceful and orderly exercise, and urged supporters to begin preparations for the next general election.
