Adelabu Joins Oyo 2027 Race, Picks APC Governorship Forms

Former Minister of Power and Oyo State governorship aspirant Adebayo Adelabu has picked up the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the 2027 governorship election.

Adelabu, represented at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja by his aide, Ajiboye Akande, pledged to deliver unprecedented development to the state if elected governor in 2027.

Also on Monday, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, who represents Oyo South on the APC platform, obtained the party’s nomination forms alongside other senatorial aspirants from the state, including Senator Yusuf Akintunde, seeking to return to the Senate for Oyo Central, and Remi Oseni, contesting the Oyo South senatorial ticket.

Meanwhile, African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship aspirant Niyi Aborisade has unveiled a development blueprint for Oyo State ahead of the 2027 election, promising “positive change” through what he described as purposeful leadership and practical governance.

In a statement, Aborisade said his ambition is driven by a commitment to measurable progress, adding that leadership should be based on competence, preparation and clear vision rather than political endorsements.

He said his focus is on presenting workable solutions to the state’s challenges, stressing that residents deserve leadership that prioritises results and inclusive development.
