PDP plots 2027 takeover in Kogi State

The Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State has announced plans to field candidates for three Senate seats and seven House of Representatives positions in the 2027 general elections.

The state party chairman, Muhammed Gambo, said the PDP is committed to inclusivity, justice, fairness, and equity, describing the party as “the solution to Nigeria’s challenges.”

Gambo praised Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Udaughan for her performance and said the party intends to build on its 2023 election gains in Kogi Central to secure victories across the state.

Speaking Saturday at a meeting organised by the Natasha Avabe Group in Zango Citi, Adavi Local Government Area, Gambo appealed to undecided voters to join the PDP, highlighting the party’s people-centric approach.

He also assured that the PDP would prioritise women and youth empowerment, promising to implement policies that address their needs.

The visit to Adavi, a stronghold of Akpoti-Udaughan, was described as a strategic effort to consolidate support for the party ahead of the next elections.
